Fees
This page explains the costs you set and control when you trade in the terminal.
Sentinel's own per-trade fee is not described on this page. This page covers the fees you set and the costs that come from the network and the token.
Fees you set
You set these in your execution presets. Each preset has them for Buy and for Sell.
| Fee | What it is |
|---|---|
| Priority fee | Extra SOL paid to improve transaction processing priority |
| Bribe | Extra SOL paid directly to the block builder to improve inclusion odds |
| Auto fee | Lets the engine pick the fee, up to the maximum fee you set |
Higher fees help a transaction land faster when the network is busy. They cost more on every trade.
The default presets raise both fees from P1 to P3. See the table in Trading settings and presets.
Costs from the network and the token
- Solana network fee: every transaction pays one.
- Slippage: not a fee. It is the maximum price movement you allow while a trade executes. A wider limit lets more trades fill and can fill them at a worse price.
- Token tax: some tokens charge a tax on buys or sells. Max tax in each preset blocks a trade when the token's tax is above your limit.
MEV protection
MEV protection routes your order through Jito. It reduces the risk of sandwich attacks and front running. The Secure and Reduced modes trade some speed for safety. See MEV protection.
Where fees show
The trade panel and the Buy sheet show the priority fee, bribe and MEV mode of the active preset before you trade.
The Positions table does not show per-position fees yet.
