Trading Settings and Presets

Trading settings control how your orders execute. Open Settings in the sidebar. Trading defaults is the first screen. Use the search field to find any setting.

Execution presets

A preset is a saved set of execution settings. There are three: P1, P2 and P3. Your active preset applies to every trade. Switch it from the header, from a column header on the Action board, or from the trade panel. The status bar shows which preset is active.

The default values are:

PresetSlippagePriority feeBribeMEV protectionQuick buy
P115%0.001 SOL0 SOLSecure0.25 SOL
P250%0.005 SOL0.003 SOLReduced0.5 SOL
P380%0.01 SOL0.01 SOLOff1 SOL

P2 is active by default. The values above are the default Buy settings. Sell settings start with the same values.

Click Edit presets to change them. The Trading Settings window has one tab per preset and a Buy and a Sell side. Each side has:

SettingWhat it does
SlippageThe maximum price movement allowed while the transaction executes
Priority feeExtra SOL paid to improve transaction processing priority
BribeExtra SOL paid to the block builder to improve inclusion odds
Auto feeLets the engine pick the fee, up to a maximum fee you set. On by default, with a maximum of 0.05 SOL
Max taxThe highest buy or sell tax you accept before the trade is blocked

Each preset also has an MEV mode and a Quick buy amount.

Presets are saved in your browser. They do not follow you to another browser or device.

MEV protection

MEV protection routes your order through Jito to reduce the risk of sandwich attacks and front running.

ModeBehavior
OffNo MEV protection. Fastest, but trades can be sandwiched
ReducedReduced protection through Jito. Balances speed and safety
SecureFull protection through Jito. Safest, slightly slower

Defaults and RPC

Above the presets, Trading defaults has app-wide fallback values:

  • Slippage: Auto (recommended), or a custom value in basis points
  • Priority fee: in micro-lamports. The default is 0
  • Jito MEV protection: on by default

The presets are the profiles used by Quick Buy and the trade panel.

Custom RPC routes your transactions through your own Solana RPC endpoint. Leave it blank to use Sentinel's default RPC.

Trading denomination is SOL. USDC is not available yet.

Quick Buy and Quick Sell

  • Quick Buy: set the amount per surface (default, search, Action board) and per Action column. Choose the button size and whether it shows your holdings.
  • Quick Sell: turn one-tap sells on or off, choose the default percentage (10, 25, 50 or 100) and choose where they appear: the Positions table, the token page and the quick bar.

Safety

  • Emergency stop pauses all automation at once
  • Confirm before closing positions asks before a full close
  • Spend caps set a daily cap and a per-trade cap for automation, in SOL. Leave a cap blank for no cap. If a cap and a rule limit differ, the lower number wins

Other settings groups

Action, Tracking, Portfolio, Navigation, Notifications, Appearance and Account and system cover board filters, tracker layout, positions density, header layout, toasts and sounds, themes, sessions, license pairing and your preferred Solana explorer. You can export, import or reset your device preferences under Account and system, then Advanced.
